Healthcare workers across the world have been working tirelessly for long hours since the eruption of the coronavirus.
In a remarkable gesture of appreciation, people around the world have led campaigns to provide them with healthy meals.
The is also exactly what is taking place in Australia where volunteers from 18 different Muslim organizations have come together to feed healthcare heroes.

Groups such as Project Qur’an has donated warm meals to healthcare workers at Canterbury Hospital in south-west Sydney. The next project is to deliver meals to different hospitals across New South Wales every night during Ramadan.
“We got a lot of great feedback on social media from nurses who received the food and then reached out to us,” Aladdin Elmir from Project Qur’an told Daily Mail Australia.
One of the other groups helping those in need is the Muslim Aid Australia which has been making and delivering food hampers across the country.
“We’ve done distributions for elderly people who can’t go out, families who have children that are high risk, families that have lost their jobs and international students,” said Riyaad Ally, a member of the group.
“The communities have come together really well. We put out a list of things we take for granted like flour, pasta, rice, toilet paper,” Ally said.
“We distributed about 90 food hampers on a day alone in Victoria.”
Helping People
The team is determined to keep working until the end of this dilemma.
“(Those receiving the hampers) are just overwhelmed by the support they are receiving, they’ve been very appreciative. This whole program is about helping one another,” he said.
“We’re going to keep going as long as we can. The community has been very good so far and we hope to continue.
“This is not gonna stop for us.”
Over 1,939,463 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have spanned the globe. The pandemic has also killed more than 43 thousand.
In Australia, there are more than 6,400 coronavirus cases, while the country has recorded 61 deaths until today.
Two weeks ago, Human Appeal International started handing out care packages with essential food items to self-isolating residents who have no one to support them.
