There was a man who held back when he needed to spend for the hereafter. The one who lowers himself before Allah, Allah raises him up.

People want to show their status, but Allah throws them into dirt. A person who develops a haughty attitude will be landed in such difficulty they cannot help themselves. They spend their wealth on their children yet their children become the source of their problems. They spend it on big houses and land but yet in old age they stay awake worrying about these assets. 

Allah tortures people with money, as they put their trust in their money and status but not in Allah!
