Today, we live in an ultimately shameless world, a world in which streaming videos of any website are available on your mobile device. It is in age in which the pornography is a multi-trillion dollar industry. Its agenda is to make sure everyone of you is a consumer of filth in one way or another, that is, every man, woman and child is exposed to this stuff. They hope you become addicted to it too and that you become another consumer.

That is the gift of pornography to society. It is turning people into animals and perverts.

And some of you unfortunately have that addiction; you are watching the stuff online and saving it your mobile devices.

You don’t feel bad about it and you may even justify it to yourself. You may feel bad about it once in a while but you go back to it.

You think: Oh, at least I am not hurting anybody; at least I am not doing it to anybody else, I am just watching the stuff and it’s okay.

But do you know what is happening to you inside your soul? It is being just shattered; you have no soul left inside of you. Your prayers are empty and you cannot even shed a tear in your Salah because your heart is so devoid of the fear of Allah; because the filth you have been watching all this time that turned you from a human being into an animal.

You look at a woman passing by and what you see is a piece of flesh walking by; you don’t see a human being walking by that deserves respect. You check everybody out and everything out and you are constantly looking and staring.

You have a hard time putting your eyes down when you are on the subway; when you’re on campus; when you’re working or walking on the street. You just cannot help when you see a billboard to take a second and third look.

You do not miss any opportunity to just violate your soul with your eye. You are addicted completely and then you say: “Brother, how do I get khusuhu`(concentration) in Salat?”

What world are you living in?

My brothers, (and I know some sisters have this issue which is a sad reality), this is a war! This is more dangerous than any military war. This is the war that is destroying our souls. It is making its way into our homes.

You know, I want to protect my children from this stuff as much as possible but when my child goes to school –and  it doesn’t matter if its Islamic school or not- there is a very high statistical likelihood that someone, a friend or with their iPod or with their mobile device will say: Hey look at this.
