Is it really a sign of religiosity to wear traditional Arab or Pakistani clothes regardless of the place, occasion and surrounding circumstances?
Does it make you a better Muslim to dress in a thawb in the streets of UK or to wear a turban in the US? Is that the correct understanding and application of the Prophet’s Sunnah?
Some Muslims believe that it is a requirement of religiosity to dress so. While these intentions might be praiseworthy, what proponents of this opinion fail to realize is that the worst foes of Islam, such as Abu Jahl also wore the same type of clothing! In fact, every man in Arabia wore similar styles.
Obviously the pagan Arabs and the enemies of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were not trying to “follow” the Sunnah by dressing exactly the same as our Prophet (peace and -blessings be upon him).
So the question arises, then, as to what the real Sunnah method of dressing is.
Join Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi in this video clip were he revives the true method of dressing the like the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and following his example; the way our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted us to follow his Sunnah!
A MUST watch video for every Muslim who loves to follow the Sunnah!
