An-Nawas ibn Sam`an (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace an blessings be upon him) said:
“Righteousness is in good character, and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul, and which you dislike people finding about it” (Muslim)
This beautiful hadith was the Prophet’s answer for a question of An-Nawas ibn Sam`an about birr, or righteousness, and sin.
Dr. Mohamed Allali, Imam and expert and Tarbiyah (self-development), reflects in this video on these two definitions given by the Prophet about the two terms.
