4 Things Happen When You Send Blessings upon the Prophet

Allah honored the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and elevated his status by sending blessings upon him, and ordered angels and the believers to follow suit. He said in the Quran:

Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace. (Quran 33:56)

This verse shows Allah’s grace, honor , and love for his Messenger and Prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Just like Allah ordered the angels to prostrate to Adam (peace be upon him), He commands the believers to send peace and blessings upon the Prophet.

When you send peace and blessings upon the Prophet:

You are Obeying the Command of Allah

Allah Himself sends peace and blessings upon the Prophet and asks angels and believers to follow the command:

Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace. (Quran 33:56)

Allah Will Return the Salutation Ten Times

It was narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Talhah, from his father, that:

The Messenger of Allah came one day with a joyful expression on his face. He said:

Jibril came to me and said:

Will it not please you, O Muhammad, (to know) that no one of your Ummah will send salah upon you but I will send salah upon him tenfold, and no one will send salams upon you but I will send salams upon him tenfold? (An-Nasa’i)

The Prophet said:

He who blesses me once, Allah would bless him ten times. (Muslim)

The Prophet Hears Your Greeting

Whenever someone greets me, Allah returns the soul to my body (in the grave) and I return his greeting. (Abu Dawud)

You Get Peace and Blessings from Angels

The Prophet said:

There is no Muslim who sends peace and blessings upon me, but the angels will send peace and blessings upon him as long as he sends peace and blessings upon me. So let a person do a little of that or a lot. (Ibn Majah)
