It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle as our body impacts our abilities to fulfill our duties as Muslims. A common picture, seen in both men and women, is overweight individuals. They pray on chairs because their knees can’t withstand the weight.
Prophet Muhammad said: “Whosoever begins the day feeling family security and good health; and possessing provision for his day is as though he possessed the whole world.” (Tirmidhi 551).
“A believer who is strong (and healthy) is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer, but there is goodness in both of them…” (Bulugh al Maram).
In this video, you’ll enjoy watching Dr. Mujeeb Hoosen lecturing about Prophetic medicine and the Islamic healthy lifestyle. He also talks about personal hygiene which forms a basic core in Islamic Shari’ah.
