Comprehending What’s In Surat An-Nur

Surat An-Nur or Light in Arabic is the 24th surah of the Qur’an. The Medinan surah contains 64 verses.

It’s located in the Juz’ number 18 of the Holy Qur’an. Surat An-Nur was revealed shortly before or after the Battle of the Trench in 5 AH.

This surah opens with a short introduction to the revelation of the Qur’an, as many other surahs do – that is a reminder and a clear sign for people to look to.

The surah confirms that God has sent down signs to make His reality clear, and that understanding that reality is as a “straight path”, that if one is truly following, one can never be led astray.

God keeps His word, and will continue to reward those who believe and keep to their religion, as He has rewarded others in the past for doing the same.

In this episode of the program “Reason” of Iqraa TV Channel, the Muslim Egyptian geologist Dr. Zaghlool Al Najjar explains with some Egyptian youth the signs which God has informed believers about through the verses of Surat An-Nur.
