NEW YORK – A Facebook page, called Registration Day, has created a video to spread awareness on President Donald Trump’s promised Muslim registry, and rejected discrimination against the religious community.
The page, Registration Day, features a video that shows what it might look like when Trump’s Muslim registry takes effect.
The video shows a highly policed location with heavily armed guards, where families must register by having their hands and fingerprints scanned.
The video is captioned with, “Declare your religion and place your hand on the scanner. Remain orderly and in a single file line. You will be registered shortly.”
The Facebook page writes as its mission: “A social conversation that challenges the idea of having to register people because of their religion or place of birth. Stay engaged.”
Muslims make up 1% of America’s 322 million population, according to Pew Research center.
Trump’s views on immigration have sparked controversy nationwide, especially his proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the US.
