NEW JERSEY – American comedian and TV host Steve Harvey honored in his latest episode the Muslim man who stepped in to end a street fight between two brawling teens.
The act of kindness, shared in a video on Facebook, was widely praised as an inspiration.
Announcing his upcoming episode, Harvey wrote on Facebook, “Honoring Ibn Ali Miller on my show as a Harvey’s Hero on MONDAY. He’s the man who stopped the two teenage boys from fighting in the street. He is a true representation of the statement, “God blesses you to become a blessing.” You’re gonna want to see this show on MONDAY, April 10th. Set your DVRs now!”
Harvey also announced the new episode on his Instagram account, writing: “You have no idea the trickle down effect of one act of kindness. Having a real conversation on MONDAY.”
Miller, who’s studying at Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City Inc., says it was a hadith from the Prophet Mohammad, which propelled him to step out and speak up. “The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger.”
Ibn Ali was also honored for his actions in Atlantic City last month. He was in tears as he described the impact his mother had on his life.
