For the first time, millions of Muslims around the world will perform `Eid prayer at home, due to coronavirus lockdown.
Yet, in Orlando, the Muslim community are keen on making it a very special day to remember despite difficulties.
To brighten the occasion, `Eid Orlando Facebook page announced they would be hosting a car decorating contest during the Car Parade.
“This fun family activity will get everyone ready for `Eid celebrations,” an event announcing the contest said.
“All participants must register before Saturday May 23rd. Volunteers will take a photo of your decorated vehicle and subsequently upload the TOP TEN vehicles onto `Eid Orlando’s Facebook page for voting.
“First, Second and Third place winners will be announced Wednesday May 27th and will receive gift certificates from local businesses.”
`Eid Al-Fitr is expected to start on Sunday, May 24, according to the Fiqh Council of North America (FQNA).
Marking the end of Ramadan fasting, `Eid Al-Fitr is one the two main Islamic religious festivals along with `Eid Al-Adha.
As the COVID-19 threat remains, the FQNA urged Muslims to celebrate `Eid at home.
