World Prepares for the Biggest Halal Expo

For the 7th year in a row, the world’s biggest Halal Expo is back in Turkey, and will be held from the 28th of November to the 1st of December 2019, IlmFeed reported.

The annual international event is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors from across Turkey and the globe, with exhibitions from more than 35 countries.

This year’s event will be taking place at the Eurasia Show and Art Centre in Istanbul.

It is expected to feature a wide range of events, meetings, and workshops, and bring together leaders from various halal industries such as education, publication, food, finance, fashion, tourism and much more.

The event is being organized in association with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the World Halal Summit with the sponsorship of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.

500 Professional buyers from Turkey, the Middle East, Central, and Western Europe, the Balkans and Africa will attend the event.

The concept of halal –meaning “permissible” in Arabic applies traditionally to food.

Muslims should only eat meat from livestock slaughtered with a sharp knife across the jugular vein, and the name of Allah, the Arabic word for God, must be mentioned.

The Halal Expo in Turkey is not the only one hosted around the world.

In July 2019, North America’s largest halal food festival took place in Toronto.

The Annual MuslimFest, the largest Muslim festival in North America, also took place in Mississauga from August 30-September 1.
