The concept of halal –meaning “permissible” in Arabic applies traditionally to food.
Muslims should only eat meat from livestock slaughtered with a sharp knife across the jugular vein, and the name of Allah, the Arabic word for God, must be mentioned.
The Halal Expo in Turkey is not the only one hosted around the world.
In July 2019, North America’s largest halal food festival took place in Toronto.
The Annual MuslimFest, the largest Muslim festival in North America, also took place in Mississauga from August 30-September 1.
