LONDON – A London-based Islamic charity has invited Muslims to donate food to the East London Mosque to help the needy and underprivileged during the holiday season.
“This Friday we’re holding a BIG food drive at East London Mosque. Two million people are malnourished & missing meals in the UK,” Muslim Aid wrote on Twitter.
“Join us this Friday in gathering food for those in need,” the group added.
Friday’s event is the second in a series of events by the aid group to help the needy.
The first event took place at Croydon Mosque and Islamic Center. Three other events are planned through December in Balham mosque, Tooting Islamic center, and Al Manar Islamic heritage center.
Last December, British Muslim worshippers attending East London Mosque donated 10 tons of food to local homeless people.
