LONDON – Muslims seeking love on cyberspace have hit a new record with one million hits on Muslim relationship app Muzmatch.
“We accomplished some huge product goals – biggest being a full localization of the app into thirteen different languages, with the assistance of our Muzmatch community,” the UK-based start-up’s co-founder Shahzad Younas told Salaam Gateway.
Launched in 2015, muzmatch has taken the Muslim “halal dating” space by storm.
Im less than four years, it hit the one million users’ milestone.
“2018 was the year we turned down some very attractive acquisition offers, too,” Younas said.
They still have big dreams for 2019 and the future.
“[For 2019 Muzmatch will] focus on further polishing the product, making it faster, smoother, and much more feature rich,” said Younas.
“We aim to further double our size and accelerate our growth and focus on international expansion,” he added.
“The goal is always to raise the bar from a technology and app perspective in a way that continually respects the faith and objectives of Muslims looking for a partner.”
In a previous interview with AboutIslam.net, Younas said, “our goal as a service is to help Muslims connect with a view to marriage. Our job is to allow them to express their preferences and for us to find them suitable people and run a platform that helps gauge their compatibility.”
Along with Muzmatch, other applications such as Minder and Salaam Swipe offer similar services to Muslims.
