LONDON – Thousands of Muslims are awaiting London’s first Muslim Lifestyle Show, planned later this month, which will promote Muslim culture, products and services from around the world.
“[Our] aim is to create a platform for not only Muslim businesses and consumers to participate in but also for non-Muslims to come along and discover more about the culture including fashion, food and lifestyles,” Waleed Jahangir, founder of the Muslim Lifestyle Show, wrote in a statement to Al Arabiya English on Tuesday, April 5.
“I’m a proud Muslim and also very proud to be British and I really hope [visitors] enjoy the Muslim Lifestyle Show by discovering the cultural riches which have been part of our societies for centuries,” he added.
The event, planned from April 30 to May 1, will be held at Olympia London.
It plans to bring together over a hundred exhibitors featuring Muslim fashion, Islamic finance, travel, food and drink, as well as health and beauty services.
There will even be a marriage masterclass at the event.
Targeting Muslim consumers, who make 12.4 percent of London population, the event aims to provide a platform for international businesses to showcase their products and services to Muslim and non-Muslim consumers.
This field has been increasingly seen as one of the fastest growing sectors globally.
Muslims worldwide represent an annual spend of 3.6 trillion dollars on food and lifestyle sectors.
Along with exhibitions featuring Muslim culture, the show will include live performances from renowned artist Sami Yusuf as well as a comedy show hosted by Abdullah Afzal from BBC1 comedy hit series ‘Citizen Khan’.
“Jungly Jadoogar” an interactive play for children and families will take place in the dedicated Theater at Olympia.
