Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté Stuns Fan by Turning Up at Daughter’s Wedding

Chelsea Muslim star N’Golo Kanté made a surprise appearance at the wedding of a popular supporter’s daughter over the weekend, The Sun reported.

“We became friends when I was introduced to him by a friend and he came to my restaurant Chak89,” Frank Khalid, who is also a Muslim businessman, said.

“I invited him and originally he couldn’t attend because of his commitment to the French national team, but because of his injury he messaged me saying he was coming.”

The 28-year-old had also visited Khaled after having heart surgery last year.

“My family and myself are very close to N’Golo and he was one of the first people to visit me when I had my triple bypass surgery operation in April 2018,” Khaled recalled.

“He stayed till the end and was so nice to everyone and signed autographs and took selfies with the guests.”

“He must have been asked for a million selfies and he happily obliged every person that was at the wedding. He was happy to be there,” Khalid wrote on Twitter.

It is not the first time Kanté will be making a surprise appearance.

Last September, the French national accepted an invitation to play Fifa and watch Match of the Day over a curry at the house of an Arsenal fan he had just met at the mosque.

The midfielder, who won the World Cup with the French national team this summer, had earlier missed his Eurostar train from St Pancras, so he went to a mosque in Kings Cross where he met a fan who invited him to visit his house.

He also made an unexpected trip to visit fans at a Chelsea Foundation event in January.

Kanté, 28, represents the French national team as a defensive midfielder.

He played for Boulogne, Caen, and Leicester City where he became an integral member of the English club’s first-ever Premier League title. Kanté was also a key member of the team which won the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
