The first thing you must remember about your wife is that she is a beloved daughter from her family. She has left the safety and security of her family to join her husband and his family.

The best amongst you are those who are best to their wives. If you must correct her, do so in a loving and kind way. If you encounter any dispute, you must support your wife and never blackmail her with religious arguments such as “heaven is under the feet of your mother.” Be soft in your approach, be kind.

Your wife also needs your time and attention. Why get married when you neglect your wife to be with your friends? Honour your wife and Allah will honour you.
