Whether you are a believer or not, the night time is regarded a special time by psychologists. People are usually more willing to share and more in touch with their feelings and emotions. This is why we see most people going out on dates at night time. Islam takes advantage of this time.
The scholars say the night is a testimony of ones love. If ones goal in life is to have fun and party, they will spend their nights trying to do that. If a persons concern is the afterlife and gaining to pleasure of Allah, they will spend their night devoted to Him.If we want to change things in this Ummah, to make a real change then we need to look at the Sunnah and how the companions (ra) did it. ibn Abbas (ra) narrated that he didn’t see one companion who did not take advantage of the night.
When was the last time we woke to pray Qiyam ul layl? This prayer is how we will fix our connection to Allah (swt). Just try it, wake up 10 minutes before fajr prayer. At this time Allah is closest to His creation and is asking us to beg to Him. You will feel your heart transform and gain that spiritual connection which is missing from the Ummah today.
