The Quran was given to us as speech. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was reciting the Quran. He didn’t know how to write it because he didn’t know how to write at all so it is an entirely oral experience. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Companions are letting it into their hearts and they are memorising it. 

The Quran came in a way where there was no editing. What we hear today is the final version of the Quran. 

Take a look at Surat Yusuf, it is perfect symmetry just like the whole Quran. Surat Yusuf is broken into 12 parts and when you break it down, you will see one of the beautiful aspects of the miraculous Quran!
