When someone says something about Allah or says something about Allah which they shouldn’t have, they should say subhanAllah. Allah is perfect, His love is perfect, His plan is perfect, His wisdom is perfect whether it fits in with our life or not. SubhanAllah is declaring the perfection of Allah. Anything Allah knows, anything He plans none of it can be criticised. The devils trick is to make us doubt Allah.
Allah teaches us that it is natural to question even if you are as good as an angel or as bad as a devil, it is okay to question. The problem is after you have a question or bad thought say “subhanAllah” like the angels. We think “why did this happen?, why did we move?, why did we lose a job?, why is Allah letting this happen?” We do not understand the plan of Allah. We think our own plan is prefect and our sense of justice is perfect. When we think these thoughts, we need to recite “subhanAllah”.
Until we get rid of bad thoughts, we cannot praise Allah. We say “Alhamdulillah” but not happy with Allah and the way our life is going. We need to remember that when Allah plans something for us which is painful, He only does it because of love.
