Finding inner peace in today’s world is not easy.
In a previous video, brother Nouman answered a question on whether one can find inner peace without faith.
In this brief reflection, he starts by reciting a verse from the Qur’an which describes inner peace, where Allah (SWT) says:
“They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice – those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided.” (Qur’an, 6:82)
Allah (SWT) tells us something Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, said to the people:
“… So which of the two parties has more right to security (i.e. internal peace), if you should know?” (Qur’an, 6:81)
This ayah is about people who attain peace in their life.
People suffer from all kinds of emotional imbalances; depression, sadness, anger, anxiety …
How do they attain peace?
Is there a relationship between faith and peace, internal peace? Emotional and psychological states of peace?
Allah says “They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice” (meaning) those who truly came to believe and they did not disguise their faith with wrongdoing.
Wrongdoing is a disturbance not just in the outside, but in this ayah it is as though Allah is describing when you do wrong to someone else, you are actually disturbing something inside of you.
And then this is if you are able not to do that and not wrong others, and not doing wrong, and not doing injustice of any kind, those are the people who deserve peace.
They will have peace.
They will find peace inside of themselves.
People who commit injustice, their inside has been damaged. They don’t have peace any more…
