Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said travel during the night for the earth folds up at night like it doesn’t during the day. This means that it is faster to travel during the night. 

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged people to travel at night rather than the day. This means there must be more blessings to travel at night than there is during the day. 

However, this sunnah can be affected by our particular situations. If we live in a dangerous place, it is better to travel during the day. If we have bad eye sight, it is better to travel during the day.
