Shirk is a major in in Islam. Sometimes we commit shirk unknowingly. Shirk is associating partners with Allah (swt) or denying the existence of Allah (swt).

The Messenger (S.A.W) warned us against shirk, fearing that his Ummah might fall into it, and said “The thing I fear most for you is minor shirk.” [Narrated by Ahmad, 23119]

الَّلهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُشْرِكَ بِكَ وأَنا َعلَمُ وأَستَغفِرُكَ لما لا أَعلَمُ 

 Allahumma inni a`udhu bika an ushrika bika wa ana a`lamu wa astaghfiruka lima la a`lamu ‘

O Allah I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know.’
