Growing up, Hannah always believed in God, she was raised Catholic. She struggled with the teachings of Christianity especially as she got older. She asked a lot of questions about why certain teachings were the way they were and she never got the answers that would satisfy her.
When she started college she was at the point where she felt directionless and without a purpose. When she was in her junior year of college she went to a conference in the Middle East and this is where she discovered the new meaning of Islam. She realised that all of the stereotypes she had heard about Islam were untrue.
While she was there she went to Friday prayer in the mosque and although she didn’t understand anything, she felt an overwhelming feeling of peace. She never felt so close to God before as she did during that prayer.
