Muslim Welfare Centre Offers Free Meals in Toronto

A Muslim welfare center in Toronto is hosting weekly halal meals every Sunday to feed poor residents of all ethnicities and faiths in the city.

Hundreds of people gather at the meals, hosted by the Muslim Welfare Center at the Christian Resource Center in Regent Park, in cooperation with Regent Meals program.

A variety of services by Muslim volunteers

The program provides Regent Park residents with an opportunity to enjoy a delicious restaurant style meal that is served in a welcoming and caring atmosphere.

More than 45,000 nutritious, halal meals have been served since the program began in October 2014. Over 350 meals served every Sunday.

Services also include regular clothing distribution, school backpack distribution for kids in the fall, free tax return preparation and e-file, as well as health information seminars.
