“I reached the door handle during a role play with my son – acting to go out – he ran to my room, got me my scarf and said – ‘’mummy this! ‘’- he knows mummy’s not going to go out without this?? . My hijab is my power. My grace and my identity. It’s the most powerful asset I have and it makes me feel proud. It completely reflects who I am- and encourages me to reach whatever I wish for- strengths my capacity to excel and also stay close to my roots. It brings me back each time I deviate from path- to the submission for the One and Only. It picturizes the strong in me and the weak in me too- that no matter who I become and where I go- I still will nothing be compared to Him- the merciful. My hijab also lightens people around me- of where I come from- of why I wear it-Similarly- don’t let fashion and trends define who you are. Don’t ever look down upon yourself of how you look. The social media now sadly has unrealistic expectations of who we should be. As far as you’re healthy – you’re all what you need to be. Use that energy to do something good for your soul and mind rather than your face and body.
