Q When women gather to perform prayer, should they make the iqamah for prayer?

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

There is nothing wrong if women make the iqamah for prayer.

Answering your question about if women should make iqamah for prayer, the late prominent Saudi Muslim scholar, Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, stated:

If women make the iqamah, there is no harm in that. If women do not do so, there is no harm in that either. This is because the adhan and iqamah are only obligatory upon men.
