Sinned a Lot: Will Allah Ever Forgive Me?

12 February, 2019
Q Do you think there is hope for me to be good one day and get accepted by Allah. I heard that being engaged in a sinful life for such long time leads to hardening the heart. I doubt that my heart would have a good heart any more.

Answer

Wa `alaykum as-salamu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

In this fatwa:

There is a chance for you to get back to Allah. Allah is the Most Kind and the Most Merciful. He is ready to forgive your sins and even to replace them with good deeds if you sincerely repent, turn over a new leaf and amend your ways.

Allah Almighty has already given the best answer for this question:

{Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped. And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive,} (Az-Zumar 39:53-55)

Of course, there is a chance for you to get back to Allah. Allah is the Most Kind and the Most Merciful. He is ready to forgive your sins and even to replace them with good deeds if you sincerely repent, turn over a new leaf and amend your ways:

{Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.} (Al-Furqan 25:70)

So, please seize this opportunity and rush back to Allah. Be sure that He will forgive your sins and be determined not to sin again.

Almighty Allah knows best.
