Have you ever experienced the power of du’aa?

In this video, brother Nouman Ali Khan tells an interesting story which happened to him personally.

He was around 20 years of age, and he fell in love with the Qur’an.

He went into a masjid in Ramadan and heard a remarkable scholar explain the Qur’an.

Till that day, he had only read the Qur’an in translation.

He heard the scholar speak of the Qur’an in the form of almost a conversation

He felt Allah (SWT) speak to him directly for the first time.

The scholar taught a new Qur’an lesson every night of Ramadan for about four hours each night.

Brother Nouman became very attached to the Qur’an.

This was despite the barriers, including the language barrier, as he had no idea of the Arabic language.

The only thing he could do at that time was to make du’aa.

He asked Allah something very simple…

He said “O Allah I love your Book.

And I’d love nothing more than to learn it and to teach it.

Just make it easy for me to learn it.

And make it easy for me to teach it.

Because I love Your Book.”

So what happened next?

The same teacher happened to be teaching an Arabic class.

Despite being a bad student at college, when he attended the Arabic class it was like knots opening up.

He could not stop studying.

He could not put the books down.

He was studying all the time, and became obsessed with studies.

What other people around him found so difficult, Allah (SWT) made it so easy for him.

He realized something had happened.

Allah had given him a gift in response to his du’aa, as He says in the Qur’an:

“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near.
I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me...” (Qur’an, 2:186)
