Can we pray salah in a mask? Right now we are all in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and some people are advising us to wear masks when necessary. 

There are some benefits of wearing a mask, whether it is to protect ourselves or other people from getting any disease. This means people will wear masks to pray salah if they are allowed out in the mosques, so can we do that?

In principle we shouldn’t be covering our face in salah and it is disliked in normal times. However, what about the current times we are living in? People should respect the expert advice in their local city or town and follow this advice. This is a need at this moment, so it is permissible. Follow the expert advice!
