At the tender age of 6 years old, the Prophet (pbuh) experienced a loss so profound, a loss which many of us will struggle with if we encounter it in our adult years. He was already without his father, yet in the middle of the desert, his mother died before his eyes.

This loss created in the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) a compassion so deep that he could easily relate to those who were poor, orphaned and lonely. He, who was the most beloved to Allah, went through this pain so that he would be able to relate to others.
