There is a forgotten sunnah where wudu is concerned. Can we be excessive when performing wudu? The answer is yes.
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said even if you are at the bank of a river you can be excessive when making wudu. Even if we wash each body part three times whilst making wudu, we shouldn’t use an excessive amount of water.
Look at how much water Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used when he made wudu. He just used a handful of water.
