We are in the age of the internet, we carry it around in our pocket all day and sleep with it beside us at night. We have the means to access so many halal websites and information but the haram is also easily reached.
The Prophet warned that people will come to Allah on the Day of Judgement with a huge mountain of good deeds but that mountain would be scattered like dust. Why? Because they persisted in secret sins knowing that Allah sees everything.
Ibn Maajah narrated from Thawban (RA) that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “I certainly know people of my ummah who will come on the Day of Resurrection with good deeds like the mountains of Tihamah, but Allah will make them like scattered dust.” Thawban said: O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us and tell us more, so that we will not become of them unknowingly. He said: “They are your brothers and from your race, worshipping at night as you do, but they will be people who, when they are alone, transgress the sacred limits of Allah.”
However! Allah knows how difficult the struggle is in this modern age, He knows how much there is to tempt us. The reward for staying away from these secret sins is immense.
The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Ahead of you there lie days of patience, during which being patient will be like grasping a hot coal. The one who does good deeds then will have a reward like that of fifty men who do such deeds. – And someone else added – They said: O Messenger of Allah, the reward of fifty of them? He said: “The reward of fifty of you.”
So the choice is yours. Your internet history can earn you huge reward or cause your good deeds to be destroyed.
